February 4-12

Seventh Grade General Music - Continue playing the pentatonic creations. Written Test on FRIDAY the 6th! We will continue reading music and playing boom whackers the week of the 9th. History of Modern American Music - Continue the research of the electric guitar. We will continue with a discussion on the 1940's music. Music Technology - we will be playing our selected songs on the ipad guitar. Chorus - we will continue to choreograph and work on our a cappella selection.

January 5 - 9

Jazz - Test on Wednesday, Review for final on Thursday - Final on Friday. Music Tech. - Review how to use the apps for our final on Monday. Seventh Grade General - Sing off on Thursday. Freedom Riders on Wednesday. Finish Sing off on Final and Continue working on Freedom Riders.

November 11-14

Music 7 - Students are performing their pentatonic pieces. We will review for our test on Wednesday and there will be a written test on Thursday. Friday we will play the quiet rhythm game and sing some karaoke. History of Jazz - Students are in the library creating their power point presentations on the 11 - 13. They are due to Mrs. Kline's drop box at the end of the day on the 13th. Friday are the vocal aspects of this class. Music Technology - Students are completing their pod casts with an accomp. undercurrent. Chorus Class - We are fine tuning our Winter Song.

Oct 15 - 24

7th -We will be finishing our unit on Freedom Riders and the Song "We Shall Overcome." Students will create their own verse to this rally song. We will start our sing off the week of 10/20 while we also do some listening activities. History of Jazz - we will finish our power point presentations. The test will be 10/23. Music Technology - We are working on playing the guitar on the ipad. Chorus - We will be working on putting the Winter Song together for concert prep. We will be testing on Thursday 10/16.

9/29-10/3

Seventh Grade - We are working on creating our Jingle this week!!! We will be listening to jingles, discussing the process of creating jingles, and finally creating our own jingle! Each student will write their jingle and then show it to the class. We will select our favorite jingle and turn it into a commercial. History of Jazz - PowerPoint presentations are due and we will be working on them over the next 4 weeks. This week we will learn about Miles, The Duke, and Ella. Our test will be next Thursday. Music Technology - This week each student will be compiling their favorite songs into a music mash-up. Chorus Class - We will be going over our choreography, singing the Winter piece, and Reviewing the District audition piece.

September 15 - 19

Seventh Grade - We are working on FOUND SOUND. All students need to bring in a found sound instrument. Students are creating their own piece of found sound music. Later this week we are talking about genres of music and doing some listening. Music Technology - We are working on creating our pod casts using garage band. Jazz - We are finishing the genre of jazz discussion. There is a test on the genres this Thursday. Chorus - We are working on our piece of music for Winter.

September 8 - 12

Seventh Grade - This week we will be taking notes on listening terms and do a few listening examples. We will play a piece of music using the boom whackers to practice our music reading skills. We will begin our found sound unit late this week. History of Jazz - We will take our first test on Tuesday, 9/9. We will move onto the next 4 genres of Jazz music. We will also sing and work on improvisation on Friday. Music Technology - We will work on clipping songs together as well as get started with garage band. Chorus Class - We will continue to work on our county chorus music. We will be introduced to our winter song on Thursday.
