Music 7 - Students will perform their self written pentatonic song. TEST on TUESDAY! General Music - playing guitar and preparing for our mini in school holiday performance. Music History - research and power point projects are underway in class. Music Tech - Listening to Hokosai songs and moving onto downloaded app project. Chorus - Writing our concert letters. Sight Singing and cleaning our concert music.

11/7 - 11/11

Seventh Grade - work on creating rhythms, composing our piece of music. Test Friday 11/11 General Music - guitar playing, playing classroom percussion Music Technology - Complete projects. Music History - Begin Romantic Opera Chorus - Veterans Day performance on Monday - clean choreography.

10/31-11/4

Seventh General - The start of a new marking period. Class expectations and notes on notes Music History - finish the romantic era. Review Thursday - Test Friday Music Technology - Work on 10 song project. Chorus - Clean 3 part songs. Prepare for Veterans Day Program General Music - Play Guitar - Plan for holiday song, this day in music history.

October 24 - 28

Seventh Grade - Listening activities and sing off. Music History - Starting the romantic era Music Technology - Clipping music together Chorus - Working on the Veterans DAy program song. Adapted Music - writing and performing a red ribbon week song.

October 17-21

Seventh Grade - We will begin our sing off on Wednesday. We are working on listening activities. Music Technology - We are starting to download songs and clip them together using hokosai. The guitar project is due on Tuesday. Music History - We are starting the transition between classical and romantic music. General Music - We are playing the guitar and this day in music history. Chorus - Good Luck at County Chorus Auditions this week!!!

Seventh Grade - Tuesday - Perform Found Sound Unit. Begin Listening Unit History of Music - Complete Classical Era and Classic Era Listening. Test on Friday Music Technology - Continue with Guitar Project Chorus - Complete Choreography Gen. Music - Continue playing guitar, dancing, singing, and This Day in Music History.

October 3 - 7

Seventh Grade - Found Sound Unit Music History - Moving onto Chapter 10 - the Classical Style Period Music Technology - Listen to the Rap/Beat Box and start subsequent project. Chorus - Finish choreography and begin working with accomp. cd's. General Music - Students will continue with guitar playing and this day in music.

Sept. 26 - Sept. 30

Seventh Grade - Students are working on a freedom rider unit. Technology - Students are creating a beat box background. History - Students are watching an opera. Adaptive - Students are watching a musical. Chorus - Choreography is going in in all chorus classes. County Chorus Music is being practiced.

9/19-9/23

Seventh Grade - Students are filming their jingle and working on listening activities. Technology - Students are creating a ring tone. History - Baroque period - test on Friday. Adaptive - Students are playing the guitar. Chorus - Choreography is going in in all chorus classes.

Sept. 6 - 9

Welcome Back to the 2016-2017 School Year! General Music - We will be discussing Jazz,Playing Classroom Percussion Instruments and This Day in Music History. We will continue with our Karaoke Friday Events. Seventh General - We are working on our notes and performing our pentatonic pieces. We will have our written test on Friday. Music History - Taking notes on orchestra evolution and listening/responding to orchestral music. Music Technology - We completed our prep projects. Project 1 - making an 8 bar loop with your own elements is due on Thursday. Chorus - Cleaning up the national anthem in 4 parts and starting our concert music with junior high. Senior high is going full throttle with the County Chorus Audition Piece. Happy September All! As Always - No Homework.

March 31 - April 8

Welcome to the Final Quarter of the School Year!!! Music 7 - Students will review classroom expectations. Students will take notes on notes, create rhythms, learn the pentatonic scale then write a song using those rhythms and scales. Modern Music - We will begin the Heavy Rock Era Guitar Class - Playing exam on Friday April 1. We will continue with chords and notes. Chorus Class - We will continue Aiken Drum as well as introduce the male/female features.

March 14 - 18

Adapted Music - Continue Guitar playing as well as learning dances for formal 7th Grade - We are well on our way with the sing off. We are starting our freedom riders unit this week. Modern Music - Discussion about music from the 40's Guitar Class - We are working on chord progressions from G to C and D7 Chorus - Singing test on Thursday or Friday for Junior High. Senior High is preparing for a singing test next week.

February 22-26

Seventh Grade - Students are composing their own jingle. They will present their jingle in class on Tuesday. We will vote on our favorite jingle and it will become the class commercial. We will create and film the commercial together. Modern Music -Students will finish creating their presentations on Tuesday and we will begin to present them on Wednesday. Guitar -We will have a playing test on the G and D7 chord Tuesday. We will work on individual notes following the chord playing test. Chorus Class Senior High - We will finish choreography of the song we are teaching Chorus Class Junior High - we will continue to practice concert music. Adapted Music - We will work on our guitars and singing this week.
